Why Crocus Space?
The prairie crocus is the floral emblem of Manitoba and the first wildflower to open on the prairie each spring. It blooms while snow is still on the ground, insulated by a coat of fine hairs, its petals curved to gather the low sun and hold the centre of the flower several degrees warmer than the air around it.
